A Quick Update

Hello friends, and faithful readers.

I have been so humbled by the kind comments so many of you have left on my last post.  I cannot express how loved this made me feel.  Losing a dog is never easy – but I have been so comforted by so many kind people.

We have decided that euthanasia would be the most loving option we can choose.  I’m not exactly certain when the procedure will be taking place.  Please bear with me.  I apologize for the crazy blogging schedule – lately this has been a sad blog to see.  But I am a firm believer that when facing tough times, we should not try to hide our pain or pretend sad things aren’t happening.  We put on happy faces for acquaintances.  We share our struggles with family.  And this blog is meant to feel like a home, with family.

Thank you all for reading.  Thank you for all the prayers, and all the comments, and all the love.  Thank you for being family.

Though I certainly have asked the Lord why this is happening, I also find myself realizing that regardless of the purpose, it is happening. And I can’t get through this without Him.  Without Him, I wouldn’t have had a little white dog with blue eyes in the first place.

  1. Shannon,
I am so sorry and am praying for you now and for the days ahead. You have a kind, gentle soul and I can see that in your love for Sugar.
    Love you,

  2. Sugar is in my heart and prayers, as are all those who have known and loved her. Anyone who has known the unconditional love of a dog understands what you are going through. I am sorry you did not have more years with Sugar but I know you deeply appreciated the time you did have. She loved and was loved.
