#Awesome Blogger Award

Awesome Blogger Award

Many, many thanks to Maggie at Dreaming of Guatemala for nominating me for her Awesome Blogger Award.  She created this award in honor of her 17th birthday – you should go to her blog and check it out!  Here’s another opportunity to share a little bit about myself with the blogging community and faithful readers.  One of these days, I’m going to have Kafka and Conrad answer some questions for ya’ll – it’d be pretty great!

The Awesome Blogger Award

This is an award for the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way to add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers. That is what truly defines an awesome blogger.

The Rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Include the reason behind the award.
  3. Include the banner in your post.
  4. Tag it under #awesomebloggeraward in the Reader.
  5. Answer the questions your nominator gave you.
  6. Nominate at least 5 awesome bloggers.
  7. Give your nominees 10 new questions to answer.
  8. Let your nominees know that they’ve been nominated!

First, I’m going to answer Maggie’s questions:

Q: What impact do you want to have on the world?

A: A positive one, even if it seems small

Q: What is your vision for your blog in the next six months?

A: Continue posting Spice of Our Shelves and adding to my Books, Books, Books page – being silly – and hopefully provide some interesting content along the way!

Q:  Where is somewhere you would like to go?

A:  The Ukraine, or England.

Q: What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?

A:  God has put many wonderful people in my life who have done many kind things, so that’s hard to say… probably the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me is what my parents have done for almost 19 years now – raising me and not kicking me out of the house!  Either that, or when someone gives me a hug or positive physical contact.  Physical touch is my love language, and my Mom knows it, so she cuddles with me all the time when I’m depressed 🙂

Q: If you could witness any event, (past, present, or future) what would it be?

A: We are about to remember the death of Jesus on Good Friday.  As much as I would love to see His disciple’s faces when He came back from the dead, I would want witness Jesus’ betrayal and crucifixion – so that whenever I feel ungrateful or sorry for myself or think that nobody understands my pain, I could have that picture in my mind, and be motivated to share that story with others.

Q: What is a skill you’d like to learn?  Why?

A:  Krav Maga!  It’s an Israeli self-defense technique, and I would learn it so I could feel a little more confident.  Actually, I’ve already learned some, and I’m about to take a second class.  It is so empowering!

Q: What are you most grateful for?

A: Forgiveness

Q:  If you had the opportunity to get a message across to a large group of people, what would it be?

A:  This is my message:

God died so you wouldn’t have to.  If you know something is missing in your life, that your soul is longing for God, that you need permanent forgiveness and love, don’t tune out that intuition.  Listen to it.  Go to God. Just tell Him you are sorry for the wrong things you have done.  Tell Him you know He died to take your punishment, and came back to life.  Ask Him to save you, and be your Lord.  He does love you.  He will not turn anyone away.

Q: Which activities make you lose track of time?

A:  Reading, singing, working out, YouTube, and napping.

Q:  What is the difference between being alive and truly living?

A:  Being alive means an organism has the five properties of life, which are:

  • ability to grow, develop, and reproduce
  • adaptation capabilities
  • requires energy
  • organization
  • maintains homeostasis

Truly living requires a breathing, free soul.

So, that’s me.  Here are my questions for my nominees:

1 Crayons or markers?

2 If you could live in a fantasy world, which world would it be?

3 Does your name have a special meaning?  If so, what is it?

4 What is one of your biggest life goals?

5 Favorite movie quote?

6 What is your love language? (words of affirmation, physical touch, acts of service, gifts, or quality time)

7 What is one character quality you most appreciate in a person?

8 Describe your best friend in a few words

9 What is your life motto?

10 If you had a whole day to do anything or go anywhere, what would you do?

I’m nominating Puppydoc, Out of Our Minds, Darly – Lifestyle Blog, Trending with Trina, Everyday Renee, CrazyGenes, and all my followers.

  1. Thank you so much for participating, Shannon! I loved reading your answers – and your message to the world is just wonderful. I couldn’t think of a better message to share. ❤ Oooh yes, please do have Kafka and Conrad do an interview or tag or something on your blog! I would love to read that.

  3. Sheer florals look rad on you.. and for someone who don't typically dig florals, I actually like this piece because of the dark hue and intriguing denigs!▲ Farrah @ ▲
