SBB: Sloths, songs, and sickness

Everyone…

It has recently been brought to my attention that the sloths of our planet are in dire need.

Please watch this brief video to educate yourself:

Happy April Fool’s Day!

Hopefully, you have not already experienced too many cruel pranks today – if so, I will help you bust Sunday and Prank Blues simultaneously with this post!

Honestly, aren’t those sloths adorable?

Right now, I am writing this post from my sickbed.  Yes, I’m a little under the weather, but heck, why not enjoy the rain?

Honestly, it is discouraging for me when I’m sick.  But throughout all my years of being sick, worrying has never helped – and allowing myself to hand the future to God has.  Sometimes, I have to hand it back to Him several times throughout the day 🙂

Anyway, while I try to memorize 2 Timothy 4: 17-18 and study meiosis for college biology, I thought maybe you guys might be interested in checking out a singer I recently was made aware of.  He does awesome, bluesie, countryish, minimalist work, and I absolutely love his voice.  Plus his lyrics are deep, encouraging, and soothing.  I’ve been listening to his music while I try to relax in bed.  So if you’re having trouble relaxing your mind, or just not enjoying the weekend, I’d like to introduce you to the music of Josh Garrels.

I’m posting a couple links to his songs on YouTube – the animated video is a great song he does, and the other is a cover of an old hymn.  I hope you enjoy these!  The staff at Trail of Lights wishes you a healthy, safe, non-annoying April Fool’s Day, and a blueless Sunday!

  1. I’m sorry that you’re sick, Shannon! I hope you feel better soon. ❤ Haha, happy belated April Fool’s Day! My brother put masking tape in front of my door that morning, so I woke up to that in my doorway. My mom warned me that it was there, so I didn’t get fooled…immediately. I forgot it was there not ten minutes later and smacked my face into it. Haha! And because my brother was still asleep at the time (he had done it the night before), I woke him up to the soft tunes of a song he can’t stand. I wasn’t pranked too hard this year. lol

    1. Hello! I’m glad you had a good April Fool’s Day – I need to try the masking tape, as one of my friends is always playing pranks on me! Thanks for the prayers – I hope I get well soon too! Apparently it’s gastritis 😕
