Let the trumpets sound! Let the crowds roar! Let dandelions and primroses dance! I can see a light in the distance… no, it’s not Krispy Kreme’s Hot Donuts light – it’s the DAWN OF SPRING BREAK!
I finished off all my tests, which is a huge relief! And now I’m ready to revel in my freedom till I have to go back to schoolwork… hopefully I’ll use this free time wisely!
So far, I have a list of tasks to accomplish:
1 For my sociological experiment (yes, this is a required school project) I am going to Billy Bob’s… yeah, I’ll let ya’ll know how that one goes…
2 sign up for a Krav Maga trial class – I needed to learn self-defense, and exercise, so why not combine both?
3 do a leetle homework… not too much!
4 Bake new recipes!
5 Visit my town’s Nature Center to get more photos for this blog!
6 Finish the painting I showed a long time ago on this blog.
7 Check my bank balance, and
8 Sign up for church home groups
Whew! In between all this, maybe I’ll actually rest… 🙂
On a random note, I’ve been noticing an odd trend on my favorite movie list – which, in case you’re curious, I’m typing down here: (note, most of these are not necessarily in order of how much I love them, just the 10 movies I could watch again and again and again…)
1 Lord of the Rings (this includes the ENTIRE trilogy, I refuse to pick only one)
2 Saving Mr. Banks
3 You’ve Got Mail
4 Catch Me If You Can
6 Inside Out
7 Beauty and the Beast ( I am so excited to see the live action version of this beautiful love story!)
8 Pride and Prejudice (BBC version)
9 My Big Fat Greek Wedding
10 The Dark Knight
Note that 2, 3, and 4 all star … Tom Hanks.
Why do I like movies with Tom Hanks?
I mean, he’s a good actor and all, but… there are lots of good actors out there. Maybe I just like the movies he chooses to act in? The characters he typically portrays? I don’t know! At any rate, he makes my list three times ( though of course, technically, so do all the actors in ‘The Lord of the Rings’… )
I just thought that you guys really ought to know about that.
ANYWAY, life is rolling on. I hope things are going well with you. As I continue to blaze the trail to adulthood, I am encountering many of those struggles some of you may have gone through… looking for a new home church, finalizing my career and school plans, searching for new doctors, developing healthy life habits, and making an effort to do school, have my quiet time, walk my dog, run errands, practice piano, exercise, and eat 3 meals every day. Some of you are probably going through similar struggles. If so, I hope I can encourage you to:
1 Watch a Marx brothers movie, (Night at the Opera or Duck Soup will have you rolling on the floor in tears of laughter)
2 Sing ‘Part of Your World’ in the shower at the top of your lungs ( if I ever become a music artist, my first album will be called ‘Shampoo! Slick serenades for your showers’ and Part of Your World will be number one on the track)
3 Meditate on Psalm 138:7-8
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands.
The entire crew at Trail of Lights wishes you a safe, enjoyable, hilarious, exhausting, blessed spring break!
