‘He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love.  There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us.  When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.’

-Martin Luther King Jr.

How to Forgive:

1 Receive the grace

2 Acknowledge the wrong

3 Lay down all your rights

4 Choose to treat that person as if nothing had happened

‘It is not on our forgiveness any more than on our goodness that the healing of the world hinges, but on His.  When He tells us to love our enemies, He gives, along with the command, the love itself. ‘

Corrie ten Boom

  1. The book “It Came From Within” by Andy Stanley has helped me with understanding forgiveness. I remember the author saying (not sure if I’m quoting him exactly) that forgiving someone is like saying to him “from one forgiven soul to another, ‘you don’t owe me.’ ” That has helped me in releasing the other person from any wrong done.

    1. Hi Aunt Kara!
Thank you for commenting 🙂 I would love to read that book – I’m pretty sure it sounds familiar. I think the author’s probably right – you give up the right to take justice into your own hands and just choose to love the other person.
I hope you are doing well! Hello to the gerbils – I can’t wait to see them 🙂
      Love,
